Dovedale Nursery is situated in the grounds of Chelmsford College. As part of a series of refurbishment work in 2010, Dovedale Nursery has been completely rebuilt supported by a Sure Start grant through Essex County Council.
The aim of Dovedale Nursery is to provide a safe, stimulating, happy and nurturing pre-school environment where children can learn happily and confidently, through play.
With the introduction of the new building the Nursery operates from 8am to 6pm and can accommodate children aged 0-4. At the latest Ofsted inspection every aspect of the Nursery was graded as 'Good'. It is also accredited through the Pre-School Alliance.
National Family Week - August 25-31 2012
Totsdays is delighted to be supporting National Family Week. Now in its fourth year, National Family Week is the biggest annual celebration of families and family life in the UK. Alsorts of community groups can get involved including Early Years, Charities & Playgroups by running an event for local families.

News from Chelmsford Children’s Centre @ Perryfields: We are pleased to announce a new session called Walk, Talk & Learn. The session will start off with a planned walk around the local community, talking about what we see along the way i.e. nature and animals etc, collecting bits and pieces i.e. leaves etc. We will return to the Centre and finish off with a snack and an art activity. We are starting this session on Thursday 19th January 2012 from 10am – 11.30am and it will run on the 3rd Thursday of each month thereafter. Suitable footwear and clothing essential! If there is anything you feel we as a Children’s Centre can do to help and support you, please feel free to pop in and see a member of the team or give us a call on 01245 359310. Don't forget to call ahead when attending a playgroup for the first time. Details constantly change - a lot of these groups are run by volunteers so please do make sure the time, day and venue is still the same before you set off !
Roxwell Playgroup have moved a few yards across to the Village Hall where they hold the Pre-School. It is no longer run on Tue mornings and is held instead on Thurs afternoons. Check the Playgroups page for details.

Childminders Chelmsford Children's Centres run a range of sessions specifically for childminders, some of which are weekly and some monthly. These are all drop-in sessions which are planned following the EYFS framework. We have an Early Years Professional who runs these sessions, and we work closely with the Pre-school Learning Alliance Childminders Coordinator who also attends some sessions and can provide support on all aspects of childminding.
